“I found God in an unlikely place when I first saw the Survivor Tree at the World Trade Center Memorial. Seeing it for the first time, I kept my distance and just watched as others stood closer to it—even touching its bark. When I finally moved as close as I could, I was able to see the scars that remained in its boughs, even though it had strongly taken root and had continued growing. This tree has become a symbol of strength and renewal for so many people, I found it to be a reminder of God’s ability to take my imperfections and use them for His purpose.”
